Kenton City Council’s 20th Regular Session of 2023

Kenton City Council met Monday, October 23, 2023. During the proceedings Mayor Lynn Webb shared that the city is looking into getting a vibrancy grant for downtown as part of the continued effort to attract new businesses to the city. Safety Service Director Cindy Murray announced the city will be putting back in for a traffic mitigation grant per an ODOT recommendation. Kenton Football Ends The Season on a Victory

Shawnee came to Robinson Field Friday evening and were sent home with a 28 - 14 loss. After snapping a five game losing streak the Wildcats finish the season tied for 7th in the WBL at 3-6 in league and 3-7 overall. Kenton's season came to a screeching halt to #3 seed St Mary's.  Leading scorer was Cailyn Hopkins with 10 points, she also contributed 11 receptions and 8 digs.Brynn Bulter scored 3 points, 26 receptions and 12 digs.Mya Good added 1 point, 2 kills, 9 receptions and 5 digs. The Lady Wildcats came to play at Elida, beating the Bulldogs in 3 sets, 25-13, 25-23, 28-26. Kenton Girls Varsity Soccer falls to St. Marys Memorial

The Kenton Wildcats lost to St. Marys 6-0 in their Section Semifinal game tonight. The Wildcats went down 1-0 with just over 26 minutes left in the first half when St. Marys star player and WBL First Team Aerial Fast found the back of the net.
