Hommel Throws Complete Game in Wildcat Opener

The Kenton Wildcats kicked off their high school baseball season with a 4-0 win over Upper Sandusky. Leading the charge was starting pitcher Maddox Hommel, who threw a complete game two-hitter with 8 strikeouts. Hommel also contributed at the plate, going 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs, a stolen base, and a run scored. Kenton returns to action at home on Thursday, taking on Ridgemont with the first pitch set for 5 PM.

Riverdale Baseball Game Against Wynford Rescheduled

Tonight's (3/27) Riverdale baseball game against Wynford has been rescheduled for April 17th. The Riverdale baseball season will now begin tomorrow against Hardin Northern at noon. The game will be broadcast live on WKTN with the pregame show beginning at 11:30 AM.

Upper Scioto Valley Baseball has announced that tomorrow's scheduled home game versus Ottoville has been canceled due to recent windstorms causing damage to the field fences. Along with colder temperatures, the school felt it was best to cancel for the safety of players and spectators. We will provide an update once the game has been rescheduled.

Sadie Mustain had a Successful Great Lakes YMCA Zone Championship

Twelve-year-old Sadie Mustain from Kenton earned a spot in the 2026 Great Lakes YMCA Zone Championship that took place March 21-22 at CT Branin Natatorium in Canton, OH. The competition featured YMCA teams from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Swimmers secure their place in events during the YMCA season by meeting qualifying times in their respective races.
