Butler, Ratliff, and Criner Earn WBL All-League Honors

The Western Buckeye League announced its 2026 Softball All-League teams, with three Kenton Wildcats earning well-deserved honors. Brayla Butler was named to the 1st team, Alexis Ratliff secured a spot on the 2nd team, and Emori Criner received an honorable mention. Adyson Van De Keere of St. Marys earned WBL Player of the Year honors, while Celina’s Renee Williams was named Coach of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to their second consecutive WBL title.

Kayleb Hickman Heads to State in 400-Meter

H/T Ada Athletic Boosters Ada senior Kayleb Hickman clocked an impressive personal best of 49.74 to grab 2nd place in the 400-meter at the OHSAA D5 Regional in Fostoria. He’s now headed to the OHSAA Jesse Owens Track & Field State Championships at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on June 4th and 5th.

Gavin Sealscott, Quinlyn Spearman, and Addi Manns will represent the Kenton Wildcats at the OHSAA Jesse Owens Track & Field State Championships. Sealscott clocked a personal best of 10.89 in the 100-meter to take 5th and secure his spot at state. Evans, Young, Flowers-Barger, Donaldson, and Inbody Qualify for State

Kolten Evans is headed to the OHSAA Jesse Owens Track & Field State Championships, qualifying individually in the 1600-meter and 800-meter, where he set a new school record with a time of 1:58.10, as well as in the 4x800 relay alongside Cale Young, Cody Flowers-Barger, and Gabe Donaldson. Grant Inbody also earned a spot at state in the discus. The athletes will keep their amazing seasons going at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on June 4 and 5.

Four Mustangs Heading to Junior Nationals

H/T Allen East Jr. High/HS Wrestling Allen East is sending four athletes to compete in the 2026 U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota. Grant Hawk, Miles McDormann, Langston McClain, and Stuart Clum all qualified in Greco-Roman, with Hawk and Clum also earning alternate spots in Freestyle. It’s the first time in the wrestling program’s history that four Mustangs are headed to Fargo. They’ll compete at the North Dakota State University Fargo Dome from July 13th to 15th.

Austin Dysert Named 3rd Team All-WBL

Kenton baseball’s Austin Dysert was named to the 3rd Team All-Western Buckeye League for the 2026 season. He posted an impressive .448 batting average and a .531 on-base percentage, both ranking in the top five in the conference. The junior showed great discipline at the plate, striking out just five times in 81 appearances. Haven Conley also earned an honorable mention from the conference.
