LaRue Driver Escapes Injury After Vehicle Strikes Utility Pole in Marion

A LaRue woman and a passenger in her vehicle escaped injuries in a crash that occurred Thursday evening in Marion. According to the Marion Police Department report, 70-year-old Pamela Fassler lost control of her vehicle while driving north on McKinley Drive. The car sustained disabling damage after it went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole. Fassler was cited for failure to control.

Ridgemont Summer Meal Pickup Program Begins June 1

Summer Meal pick up will start June 1 and run through July 27 for Ridgemont students. Each child aged 1-18 will receive a meal pack, and you do not have to qualify for free or reduced meals. Meal Packs include breakfast and lunch for five days. Ridgemont families can sign up by clicking here.

MTC Scholarship Fund Established in Memory of Fallen Morrow County Deputy

The family of a fallen Morrow County Sheriff's deputy started a scholarship fund to train future law enforcement officers as well as equip a training center at Marion Technical College. Daniel Weston Sherrer was killed on Memorial Day 2025 after responding to a domestic violence situation in the 100 block of County Road 26 in Marengo. Kenton City Schools Honors Retiring Employees at Board Meeting

Three long-time Kenton City Schools employees were recognized for their retirements. At the Board of Education meeting Monday evening, Superintendent Chad Thrush presented Golden Apples to Nanette LaVergne for 30 years and Carol Scott for 29 years of service. Kevin Kapanka was also recognized. He retired in 2015 after 29 years and was rehired and worked at KCS for 11 more years. The Hardin County Courthouse Annex Building is closed again today. According to information from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, that is due to a water leak. The building was also closed Monday to allow for proper drying and remediation.
