The Hardin County Humane Society is holding a Pet Food Pantry this Saturday, May 16. The hours will be from 10am until noon that day, and it is limited to Hardin County residents only. You must have a photo ID showing you are 18 years of age or older and provide proof of income documentation. First time visitors should allow extra time to complete and sign an application. The Humane Society is located at 13510 US 68 in Kenton.
Benjamin Logan Local School District Benjamin Logan High School celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2026 during the Annual Senior Scholarship Recognition program held Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Locations for three OVI checkpoints in our region tonight have been announced by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. One will be on State Route 81 in Allen County from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Another will be on Tiffin Avenue in Findlay from 9:30 until 11:30 p.m. An OVI checkpoint will also on Main Street, north of Avon Lake in Bellefontaine from 9:00 until 11:00 tonight. A hit/skip crash Thursday morning in Lima led to an OVI arrest. According to the Lima Police Department report, a vehicle slowed for the roundabout at Main and Market Streets, when it was struck from behind by a vehicle that then fled the scene. The driver of the vehicle that was struck obtained a license plate, and police found the driver. 35-year-old Brittney Williams was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle intoxicated. There were no injuries in the crash.

Scott G. Elliott, age 64, of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing Home.He was born on June 24, 1961, in Upper Sandusky to Thomas and Judith (Muray) Elliott. Scott was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Ted and Martha Elliott, who preceded him in death. He married Susan Elliott, and she survives in Dayton. Ohio Northern University will award approximately 742 degrees to its Class of 2026 at three ceremonies this Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17. The Pettit College of Law ceremony is on Saturday at 10am, the Raabe College of Pharmacy ceremony is Sunday at 9am, and the undergraduate ceremony is Sunday at 2pm. The ceremonies will be held at the King-Horn Field House on the campus in Ada.
