Four Arrested After $6,500 Robbery at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Findlay

Four people were arrested after a robbery at Dick's Sporting Goods in Findlay Wednesday evening. According to a release from the Findlay Police Department, officers were dispatched at just before 6pm to the Tiffin Avenue business. Dry, Hot Weather Sparks Multiple Field Fires Across Hardin County Wednesday

Dry conditions led to several field fires that kept area fire departments busy on Wednesday. One was reported at around 1:40pm Wednesday afternoon in the 20,000 block of County Road 100, which also included a combine. Just five minutes after that, a field fire was reported in the 5000 block of Township Road 180. Gas Line Hit on Ohio Street Prompts Road and Annex Building Closure in Kenton

An American Electric Power crew hit a gas line while working in an area on Ohio Street this morning. As a result, Ohio between Main and Detroit Streets was closed while repairs were made. Also, the Kenton Municipal and Courthouse Annex Buildings were evacuated. The Hardin County Commissioners have decided to close the Annex Building for the rest of the day.

Alger to Begin Leaf Pickup October 6

Photo: The Village of Alger The Village of Alger announced that leaf pickup will begin on Monday, October 6. To help the crew, residents should place the leaves in the easement and not in the roadway. Do not include sticks, branches or trash in with them. Bagged leaves will also be collected.

Donald Eugene Miller, age 66 of Kenton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at his residence in Lima, surrounded by friends. He was born on October 4, 1958, in Kenton, to Jackie Andrew and Jeanette Jean (Shields) Miller and they preceded him in death. He married Delores Harmon on November 25, 1977, and she survives. A celebration of life for Craig Alan Ward will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Eagles Campground in Bellefontaine. A reception and meal will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. then followed by a live band from 7:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with the arrangements. A full obituary was run at an earlier date.
