Kenton Apartment Fire Claims Life of 67-Year-Old Man and His Dog

A 67 year old man and his dog died in an apartment fire early this morning in Kenton. According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to Scioto Village Apartments on South Main Street at around 5am. Upon arrival, heavy smoke was visible coming from the door of Apartment 38. Firefighters made entry and found the victim, identified as Charles Cain, in a wheelchair in the kitchen. Fatal Apartment Fire Reported at Scioto Village in Kenton

A man was killed in a fire this morning at the Scioto Village apartment complex in Kenton. Officials say the fire occurred in one of the apartments at Scioto Village and authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim. Emergency crews responded to the scene and the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office was on scene assisting with the investigation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. (COLUMBUS, Ohio) – The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) has received reports of a possible texting scam being perpetrated on Ohioans today from scammers claiming to be from the State of Ohio. Residents have reported receiving text messages from scammers informing the recipients that they have an outstanding parking ticket.
