Ada Elementary Art Show Set for May 16th

Credit: Ada Bulldogs Facebook Ada School District has scheduled their Ada Elementary Art Show for May 16th from 4pm to 6pm.  Grades 1st through 6th are showcasing their artwork in the elementary school hallways.   The 2024 Art Show is being held in collaboration with visiting Author Tammi Sauer.  Most of the student's art work was inspired by one of her books.

Hardin Northern Polar Bears Celebrate Service Week

Hardin Northern Schools have been celebrating Service Week at the elementary school this week. On Monday, the sixth grade kicked off the week by working hard on mulching and weeding projects around the school grounds in Dunkirk.

The Kenton Historic Courthouse District Holding Lunch and Learn on May 13th

The Kenton Historic Courthouse District will hold a lunch and learn presentation on Monday, May 13th. It will start at 11:00 AM at The Coterie in downtown Kenton. Logan County History Center Announces New Woodcarving Exhibit

They have several pieces of Ohio wildlife woodcarvings made by master woodcarver Bob Holderman on exhibit in the lobby.  Holderman, a retired Bellefontaine Police Department Sergeant, extensively researched wildlife that have lived in Logan County. The Ohio Department of Agriculture Announces Summer Treatment for Spongy Moth Caterpillar

The Ohio Department of Agriculture will be aerially spraying this summer to stop the spread of the spongy moth caterpillar. The spongy moth is a significant invasive forest pest that has moved west into Ohio from Pennsylvania and Michigan. Each egg mass that a female lays contains between 500 to 1,000 individual eggs, and once hatched they are able to feed on the leaves of over 300 different tree and shrub species. 2024 Hardin County Fair Honoree Announced

Outgoing Hardin County Commissioner Roger Crowe will be recognized as the 2024 Hardin County Fair Honoree. Crowe was a 32-year member of the Kenton Fire Department where he retired with the rank of Captain. Most recently, he has served as a Hardin County Commissioner for the past eight years. The relationship between the Commissioner’s Office and the Fair Board is strong, and Crowe’s leadership is a large credit to the strength of that relationship.
