Hardin County Democratic Party Schedules President’s Day Luncheon

Former Ohio State Senator Joe Schiavoni will keynote the annual Presidents Day Luncheon for the Hardin County Democratic Party.     The luncheon will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at noon in the lower level of the Kenton Moose Lodge, 801 W. Lima St., Kenton, OH.   Donations will be $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for students elementary school through college, payable at the door.

Average Gas Price Climbs Above $2.00

The average price for a gallon of gas in Hardin County has climbed back above $2.00 a gallon.   AAA reported the average price for a gallon of regular grade gas was $2.05 today, which is an increase of 12 cents from last Monday.   The cheapest average price in our region is Allen County's $2.00, while the most expensive is in Logan County at $2.19 a gallon.   The statewide average is at $2.12 a gallon, and the nationwide […]

The Shawnee Indians pulled away in the second half to defeat the Kenton Wildcats 75-45 in Western Buckeye League boys basketball action Friday. The Indians (14-2 overall, 5-1 WBL) led 33-27 at the half but outscored the Wildcats 42-18 in the second half. Kenton Woman Almost Scammed Out of Large Amount of Money

A theft by deception incident had a happy ending for the potential victim.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, an employee of Fed Ex located a package that came in under suspicious circumstances and alerted authorities.   The package contained a large sum of money which was recovered before being sent to the suspect, who was listed as a New Jersey man.   The potential victim is an elderly Kenton woman.   Her money has been returned, and […]

HCSO Warns Residents About Social Security Scam

The Hardin County Sheriff's Office is warning resident to be aware of social security scam.   They have received reports that persons identifying themselves as being from the Social Security Administration are calling area citizens, claiming that their Social Security benefits are somehow in jeopardy, and that they must call the supposed Social Security representative to resolve the problem.   Residents are urged to not return any such calls or provide any personal information to the caller.   Social Security […]
