Rushsylvania Family Left Homeless After Fire

A house in Rushsylvania was destroyed by fire over the weekend.   The Bellefontaine Examiner reported that the Rushcreek Fire Department was dispatched to 135 South Sandusky Street, which is owned by Greg Mills.   When firefighters arrived, the family was out of the house and there were no injuries.   The cause has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.   Fire departments from Ridgeway, Huntsville and Richland Township provided mutual assistance.   The American Red Cross provided […]

Two Arrested in Connection to School Threat in Logan County

An arrest has been made in connection to a threat made at a Logan County school last week.   WPKO Radio reported that 23 year old Austin Eshelman was identified as a possible suspect, and was arrested over the weekend at a home in West Liberty.   His mother, 42 year old Christie Eshelman was also arrested.   Both were charged with obstructing official business.   Logan County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Riverside School this past Thursday to investigate […]

Riverdale Grad Sworn-in as New Findlay Police Officer

A Kirby man was sworn in this morning as a new officer of the Findlay Police Department.   According to a release, 22 year old Paul Frey was administered the oath by Findlay's Mayor.   Frey is a graduate of Riverdale High School and Bluffton University.   He completed his peace officer training at Rhodes State College.

Hardin County Sheriff Participates in Ada School Reading Carnival

Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart participated in the Ada Academic Boosters reading carnival this past Friday.   The sheriff agreed to stand in the bucket dunk tank, which was a new water game for this year's festival.   Despite the chilly weather, the sheriff got soaked all day long during the event.   Organizers of the carnival noted that the kids had a great time playing games and winning prizes as a reward for their reading efforts.

Marion Grand Jury Indicts Three on Drug Charges

A grand jury in Marion County returned indictments against three men on drug charges.   The Marion Star reported that 53 year old Donald E. Hurrell, 44 year old Patrick W. Kepler and 36 year old Jonathon M. Klaiber, all of New Bloomington, were indicted on to counts of illegal assembly of chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine, which are felonies of the second degree.   The charges were filed late last week following an investigation in April at a residence in […]

Two Arrested Following Fight in Kenton

Two men were arrested Sunday after Kenton police investigated a report of a fight.   According to the report, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Memorial Avenue at around 3:30 Sunday morning in reference to the fight in progress.   Upon arrival, the officer stated he observed two suspects engaged in a fight in the roadway.   49 year old Billy Madison and 47 year old Ronnie Toler, both of Kenton, were taken into custody.   They were […]

Vehicle Damaged Over the Weekend

A resident at Westview Estates reported to police that his vehicle parked at his residence was damaged over the weekend.   According to the report, a tire was flattened and a window was destroyed on the vehicle.   $600 in damage occurred to the vehicle.
