LMH Health Systems Presents Life Saving Award to Bluffton Girl

A 7 year old Bluffton girl was presented with a Life Saving Award for placing a 9-1-1 call for her unresponsive grandmother. The Lima Memorial Health Systems said that Sydney Goodwin called the emergency number when her grandmother experienced low blood sugar that left her unresponsive. The first grader dialed 9-1-1 and was able to inform them about her grandmother's condition as well as state her location. Her quick thinking is credited for saving her grandmother's life. […]

Two Drivers Escape Injury in Wednesday Afternoon Crash

A crash occurred around 4:45 Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 68 just north of Kenton. According to Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart, Wilbert Deike, of Saginaw, Michigan, was driving south on 68 and attempted to turn left into a driveway. His vehicle was struck by a northbound car being operated by Joseph Desnoyer, also of Michigan. Disabling damage occurred to both vehicles, but the drivers were not injured. Deike was cited for failure to yield.

Emergency crews were dispatched to a non injury accident this morning. Scanner traffic indicated the crash occurred in the 3000 block of Township Road 35, and that power lines were down across the road. No other information is available at this time.

Kenton Woman’s Two Children Claimed on Another Person’s Tax Return

An incident reported to Kenton police on Wednesday is being investigated as a theft. According to the report, a Kenton woman told officers that someone claimed her two children on their tax return. That resulted in a loss of $5000 in tax return money to the victim. A 37 year old Lakeview woman is facing a felony charge of theft. The incident remains under investigation.

Two Wyandot County men were arrested Wednesday in two separate domestic argument situations. In one incident that occurred Wednesday night, Joseph Brady was taken into custody for allegedly punching his step-son at a residence in the 15,000 block of Township Highway 124.
