Marysville Residents Encouraged to Sign Up for Nixle

The Marysville Police Department encouraged residents of that city and the surrounding areas to sign up for the Nixle Communication system.   The department said that is important to do as we move into the severe weather season.   A Code Red application is being phased in at the end of the month, and the Nixle sign-up will make for an easier transition.

Orders Being Accepted for Hardin County Veteran’s Banners

Commissioners Get Update from Chamber and Business Alliance

The Hardin County Commissioners heard from Jacqualine Fitzgerald from the Chamber and Business Alliance at a recent meeting.   She said the Downtown Revitalization Group is hoping to secure USDA funding for various issues regarding the future of the downtown.   Fitzgerald noted that a $10,000 Ohio Department of Transportation grant is being worked on to do a one day strategic planning for each Village in Hardin County.   She is also working on a grant for a Splash Pad […]

The Hardin County Agricultural Society met Wednesday, March 6, 2019, for their March board meeting. Nineteen directors were present and four guests were present. Corey Ledley, Board President, called the meeting to order. The board approved Lesa Heacock’s Kenton Times proposal for doing the fair premium book, fair preview, fair keepsake, and fair coverage for 2019. OSP Troopers Seize Cocaine During Wood County Traffic Stop

COLUMBUS – Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers filed felony drug charges against a Michigan woman after a traffic stop in Wood County. During the traffic stop, troopers seized 500 grams of cocaine worth $17,750. On March 7, at 3:20 p.m., troopers stopped a rented 2019 Jeep Compass with Michigan registration for a speed violation on Interstate 75. While interacting with the driver, troopers detected an odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the contraband. […]

Kenton City Council Pondering Changes to Trash Collection Program

Kenton City Council members heard from representatives of the Northwest Ohio Solid Waste District concerning the future of the Pay as You Throw trash collection program in Kenton.   The results of a survey recently mailed to residents were discussed at last night's meeting.   Council President Joel Althauser stated that roughly 60 percent of those responding were in favor of bigger containers for trash and recyclables that would replace the smaller bins and trash bags that are currently used. Lima Man Injured in Crash of Two Semis Monday Morning

A Lima man was injured in a crash involving two semis in Wyandot County Monday morning.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, a semi being operated by 50 year old Terry Routson drifted to the right while travelling north on U.S. 23.   The vehicle sideswiped a semi that had pulled to the side of road after the driver, 35 year old Yassin Omar, of Minnesota, said he heard a noise coming from his truck.
