Wyandot County Bridge Project Delayed a Week

The start of a bridge project in Wyandot County has been delayed by one week.   According to a release from the Ohio Department of Transportation, the State Routes 67 and 231 overlap in the village of Sycamore was set to close March 4, but it is now expected to close March 11.   The closure will be for four months during the bridge rehabilitation project.   Traffic on both state routes through the village will be detoured.

IT Coordinator Voices Frustration About Courthouse Phone Service

  Nate Rodenberger, IT Coordinator expressed his frustration about Windstream phones service at the Hardin County Courthouse.   Rodenberger told commissioners that he has received irate phone calls from employees who are now using their personal cell phones to make calls because they are not coming into the courthouse on Windstream.   The commissioners asked if it would be better with another carrier, to which Rodenberger replied that he has not heard of complaints with Spectrum customers.   The issues […]

ReStore Offers Many Need Based Programs in Ada

The ReStore Community Center in Ada has continued to grow since its start in 2006.   Many different need based programs are operated at the facility, including emergency food supplies, workforce training and volunteer opportunities just to name a few.   The store is located at 210 North Main Street in Ada.   To hear more about ReStore, tune in Public Eye Saturday morning at 7:30 and Sunday at noon on WKTN.

United Way of Hancock County President and CEO Announces Retirement

John Urbanski announced his retirement as president and CEO of the United Way of Hancock County effective yesterday. Urbanski joined the organization on January 1, 2013. The Board of Directors will be seeking a replacement for Urbanski over the next several months. CEO8 Consulting, led by Chris Ostrander, will serve in the executive leadership capacity throughout the transition to a permanent replacement for Urbanski.

Wapakoneta used a big second quarter to roll past Kenton 64-29 in Division II boys basketball sectional tournament play at Findlay. The Redskins improve to 14-9 and will meet Defiance for the sectional crown Friday at Findlay. The Wildcats end their season with a 14-9 record.
