A Kenton City Council member was arrested this (Monday) afternoon. 55-year-old Steve Walter, who represents the city's 3rd Ward, is being held on charges of strangulation and domestic violence. Council President Joel Althauser had no comment on the arrest at this time. He referred the matter to the Kenton Police Department. 2025 Hardin County Fair Opens with Great Weather

The 2025 Hardin County Fair is officially underway. The Opening Ceremony was held at the new gazebo. Opening remarks were presented by Hardin County Agricultural Society President Jake McFadden. The flag was raised by Hardin County Veterans during the singing of the National Anthem. Defendant Facing Aggravated Murder Charge Dies Before Case Goes to Court

A man who was indicted for the murder of a Mt. Victory man in 2022 died last week, and the indictment against him was dismissed. According to the Hardin County Common Pleas Court document, 50-year-old Anthony Allen Browne died on August 19. As a result, the indictment on a charge of aggravated murder was dismissed, and all pending warrants were ordered recalled. Drugs Seized After Search Warrants were Served at Residences in Findlay Wednesday Night

Multiple search warrants were served by in the 100 blocks of Shinkle Street and Western Avenue in Findlay Wednesday night. The Hancock County METRICH Drug Task Force and the Hancock County Special Response Team assisted the FBI and Task Force Officers. Wyandot County Public Health is aware of a strange “purple” color in a creek east of Carey known as Poverty Run in the area of County Highway 16 and Township Highway 105. New Gazebo at Hardin County Fair

Hardin County Fairgoers this year will notice a new gazebo on the grounds. Earlier this year, it was determined that the old gazebo was no longer safe for the performers to use, because the floor was starting to soften and the foundation was starting to erode.
