Riverdale 6th Grade Orientation Scheduled for August 12

6th grade orientation for incoming 6th grade students at Riverdale for the 2025-26 school year will be held on Thursday August 14th. It will take place from 9am to 1pm and will cover several different topics such as scheduling, transitioning to 6th grade, and expectations for 6th grade. Students will receive a Chromebook, access their schedule and locker, and be able to become familiar with the Middle School. Students and parents should only attend one session lasting about one hour.

Casket with Human Skeleton Found at RTA Construction Site in Lima

What's being described as a primitive casket with a human skeleton inside was located at a site in Lima on Tuesday (August 12). According to a release from the Allen County Sheriff's Office, it was found during construction of the Regional Transit Authority, 200 East High Street in Lima. The Tanner Street Cemetery was previously located at the address. This remains under investigation.

An Ada man was seriously injured in a two vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday morning at the intersection of Reservoir Road and McClure Road in Allen County. Sandusky Man Found Guilty of Corrupting Another with Drugs and Trafficking in Fentanyl in Marion County Court

A jury on Thursday found Joseph Bernard Smith of Sandusky, Ohio, guilty of corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony, and trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony for supplying Daniel Griffith with pills that contained fentanyl. After obtaining the pills, Griffith overdosed from a lethal drug mixture which contained fentanyl.
