Kenton City Council Meeting this Evening

Kenton City Council is scheduled to meet this evening. On the agenda is an ordinance providing for additional appropriations for 2023 that is on first reading. On second reading is a resolution to adopt the solid waste management plan for the Allen-Champion-Hardin-Madison-Shelby-Union Joint Solid Waste Management District. The 11th Regular Session will start at 7 this evening in the Kenton Municipal Building.

Kenton Man Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge

Alexander J. Reitschlin A Kenton man was arrested after a domestic disturbance over the weekend at Forest Court Apartments. According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, officers were dispatched to the apartment complex early this past Saturday morning to investigate the dispute. At the scene, Alexander Reitschlin was arrested. He is being held on a charge of domestic violence. There were no injuries.

Open House Being Held for Retired Ada Police Chief

An Open House for the retired Police Chief in the Village of Ada has been scheduled. The Retirement Open House for Chief Michael Harnishfeger will take place on June 22. It will go from noon until three that afternoon at the Ada Depot. Harnishfeger served over 21 years as Ada’s Police Chief and more than 38 years as an Ohio Law Enforcement Officer.

Hardin County DARE Golf Outing Scheduled

The Annual Hardin County Golf Outing DARE Fundraiser has been scheduled. It will be held on August 26. Check in is at 8 and Shotgun Start at 9 that morning. It will be held at Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course in Kenton. The cost is $55 for non-members and $25 for members. HN Basketball and Volleyball Camps Held

57 boys and girls completed the Hardin Northern Youth Summer Basketball camp held last week.  Students worked each day on developing their overall basketball skills with emphasis on footwork and ball handling.  Additionally, the bears competed in several contests. ODOT Announces Road Closing Starting Next Week

The Ohio Department of Transportation Announced that County Road 75between State Route 81 and Township Road 30 will close on Monday, June 12. It will remain closed for approximately 150 days to replace the bridge over Hogg Creek. Local detour: SR 81 to CR 65 to TR 30, back to CR 75.
