The Hardin County Fair Market Beef Weigh-In is scheduled for Saturday December 31. It will take place from 9 until 11 that morning. You must register by December 23 by following a link on the Hardin County Fair Facebook page. The weigh-in is mandatory for all market beef projects.

Kenton Lions Club will present Bowling with Santa on December 17. It will go from 2 until 4 on that Saturday afternoon at Hillcrest Lanes in Kenton. The event offers bowling and face painting. Hot dogs, chips and soft drinks will be served. There will also be a boy's and girl's bike raffle.

A second grade class (Mrs. Schwartz) at Hardin Northern is gearing up to learn about holidays around the world. In the month of December, students will visit one country a day and learn about how the holidays are celebrated there. The class prepared for their journey by creating a suitcase to store their souvenirs in as well as a passport they will use to keep track of their travels.

Village officials are asking residents to refrain from placing additional leaves at curbside as they will wash into the storm sewer system and create drainage problems in the area. The Hardin County Probate and Juvenile Courts announced closing times that will take place in the month of December. The courts will be closed from 11:30am until 1:30pm on Monday December 5. Probate and Juvenile Courts and Lifeworks will also be closed Friday December 23 through Monday December 26 and December 30, 2022 through Monday January 2, 2023.
