Two Seriously Injured in Car Vs. Semi Crash

Two people were seriously injured in a crash involving a car and a semi on US 68 at Township Road 110 just north of Kenton this (Friday) morning. According to a release from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, Kailr Manns, of Kenton, drove onto 68 from a stop sign on 110, and his car was struck by a southbound semi being operated by Robert Shenkel, of Wayne, Michigan. Kenton Middle and High School will be dismissing students at 1pm tomorrow (Friday Aug 30) due to the forecasted excessive heat. The extended hot temperatures this week have increased the humidity and heat within the buildings significantly. Morrow County Driver Stopped for Excessive Speed

Recently, a trooper from our Mt. Gilead Post cited a motorist for 121 mph in a posted 70 mph zone on Interstate 71 in Morrow County. This year, there have been over 16,000 speed-related crashes on Ohio's roadways. Safely call #677 to report dangerous driving.

OSP Remembering Officer Killed in 1965

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is remembering an officer who died in the line of duty on this date in 1965 in Allen County. Auxiliary Officer Dale Warrington died in a traffic crash on August 29, 1965 during the pursuit of a violator. He was 35 years of age.

Dana Announces Closing of Lima Plant

Dana Incorporated has announced that the Lima Plant will be closing. WLIO Hometown Stations in Lima reported the plant is expected to close by the end of 2025. The company confirmed to Lima media outlets that they will be moving production to other plants in the United States. The location on Bible Road in Lima has been in operation since 1970. With around 280 employees, it is one of the largest employers in Allen County.

Today is Last Day for HCF Early Bird Season Ticket Price

Today is the final day to claim the early bird special for Hardin County Fair season tickets.  Season tickets are $26 through the end of today.  The price will increase to $31 on Friday.  You can buy tickets right now at hardincountyfair.org/tickets Season tickets admit the bearer and all school aged children all week long.  Daily gate admission is $10.
