Findlay Police Department Welcomes New Officer

Adam Bour was sworn in Monday morning by Mayor Muryn. Bour, 27, is a graduate of Hopewell Loudon High School. He attended Tiffin University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Bour received his Basic Peace Officer Training Academy at Owens Community College, earning his OPOTA certification. Free Breakfast Offered to Kenton Students

The Kenton City Schools Cafeteria Supervisor is reminding parents about free breakfast for students this school year. Regina Comstock said the Kenton City School District provides breakfast to all students at no charge. That is regardless of the student's meal status. That is made possible by the district's participation in the National School Breakfast Program. Kenton begins the 2024/25 school year Wednesday (August 21) morning.

Third Accident at Intersection in Kenton Since July 29

(This picture was taken at the intersection before the start of the ODOT study) An accident at the intersection of Detroit and Ohio Streets in Kenton occurred Friday afternoon. According to the Kenton Police Department report, 72-year-old Judith Valerio, of Mt. Victory, drove onto Detroit from the red blinking lights on Ohio, and her car struck a southbound pickup being operated by 30-year-old Krystopher Piontek, of Farmington, Michigan. 101 Smokehouse Fire Remains Under Investigation

Over a week after a fire destroyed 101 Smokehouse in downtown Kenton, the cause has still not been determined. Firefighters were called to the scene during the early morning hours of July 31 after a passerby noticed smoke and called 9-1-1. The building was a total loss, but there were no injuries. The State Fire Marshal's Office was called to investigate. As of this (Friday) morning, officials with the office said the fire remains under investigation.

Two Facing Charges Following Separate Incidents in Kenton Thursday

A Kenton man was arrested after officers from the Kenton Police Department were dispatched to an apartment on Morningside Drive to investigate a report about an unwanted person. According to the Daily Log Sheet, Daniel Wallace was issued a summons for possessing drug abuse instruments and public intoxication. HN to Release Schedules Through Progressbook

Hardin Northern will not be doing a traditional schedule pick up this year. Instead, schedules can be found on Progressbook starting around August 14. Parents should fill out all forms through FinalForms. New students should contact the school to create schedules, and forms must be completed before the start of school on August 21.
