Commissioners Accept Bid for Nursing Home Beds at Recent Meeting

At a recent meeting, the Hardin County Commissioners held a bid opening for Hardin Hills Health Center Sale of Operating Rights to the 78 Licensed Nursing Home Beds and Optional Sale of Real Property. Hardin County Housing Development Board Meeting Taking Place Aug 13

The Hardin County Housing Development Inc. will hold a board meeting on Tuesday, August 13. The meeting will start at noon in the conference room of the Hardin County Board of DD located at 707 North Ida Street in Kenton. In old business, an update will be provided on property at 123 Silver Street. Under new business, is the Annual Conflict of Interest Policy Review. Election of officers will also take place at this meeting.

Ohio’s New Heart of it All State Map Now Available

Next Coffee with the Sheriff Scheduled for Aug 15

The next Coffee with the Sheriff is coming to Kenton on Thursday August 15th from 5 until 6:30pm at McDonald's. It is a chance to meet Sheriff Everhart along with members of the Sheriff's Office staff.  You can also enjoy some coffee, courtesy of the Sheriff, while having a casual conversation.   It is an opportunity to ask questions, express concerns or offer a compliment. McDonald's in Kenton is located at 990 East Columbus Street.

National Night Out Activities Postponed in Forest

The Village of Forest Market Square has postponed its National Night Out due to bad weather in the area Tuesday evening. It will be held from 6 until 9 on Tuesday August 13 in the Lima Street Business District in the village. The Forest Police and Fire Departments and Jackson-Forest EMS will be participating. There will be a free block party with kid zone activities, food, giveaways and more.

Marion Man Injured in Marion County Crash

A Marion man was seriously injured in a crash that occurred on US 23 in Marion County Monday afternoon. According to a release from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 79-year-old James Wetzel was operating a Harley Davidson Tri Glide Ultra motorcycle north on 23 and from the right lane, he slowed to make a right turn onto County Road 195. Kenton Announces Times for Street Sweeping

Street sweeping will be taking place on Columbus Street in Kenton this Thursday and Friday.  On those days, there will be no-parking schedules in place to ensure the streets get clean. On Thursday, August 8th from 1am-7am, there will be no parking on the South side or even numbers. On Friday, August 9th from 1am-7am, there will be no parking on the North side or odd numbers. This will apply to the stretch of Columbus Street between Wayne and Barron.
