Relay for Life at ONU April 27

Ohio Northern University is hosting is annual Relay for Life this Saturday April 27. It will run from 9am until 1pm Saturday at King Horn Field House on the campus in Ada. The event honors those who have lost their battle with cancer, are battling cancer or have beaten cancer. There will be a survivor walk, luminaria ceremony, games, free food and drinks and more.

Tree Planting Scheduled at KES April 26

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry will be coordinating a commemorative tree planting in each of Ohio’s 88 counties this spring.  The tree planting initiative is to honor ODNR’s 75th anniversary. The majority of the trees will be planted in April leading up to Arbor Day on April 26. Registrations are being accepted for the Hardin County Young Professionals meeting on May 8 at noon. Hardin County Young Professionals is a group of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 45.  The group has the ultimate goal of building professional relationships, as well as engaging in community service. Kenton Safety Service Director Reminds Residents to Not Blow Grass Clippings into the Road

As the mowing season continues, Kenton residents are being reminded not to blow the grass clippings into the street. Safety Service Director Cindy Murray addressed the situation at the recent city council meeting, "I've got the ordinance right here, it's 1060.08, and the penalty for that is $150 per violation, so just reminding people, try not to throw the grass out into the street." Albert Changes Plea; Browne Sentenced in Common Pleas Court this Week

A man who served as the Superintendent of Water Treatment for the City of Kenton and also the certified water treatment plant operator at Alger, Dunkirk, McGuffey, Holiday Shores mobile home park and Logan Landing RV Resort changed his plea in Hardin County Common Pleas Court this week. Dale Albert, of Kenton, pleaded guilty to one count of Violation of Safe Drinking Water requirements. He was indicted on two counts in December of 2023. Albert faces up to four years […]

Hardin County Treasurer’s Office Closing Early April 23

The Hardin County Treasurer’s Office will be closing early on Tuesday April 23. The office on the second floor of the Hardin County Courthouse will close at 11a.m on April 23rd. That is so the staff can attend the burial of the late Treasurer Denise Althauser.  Normal business hours will resume on Wednesday, April 24th.
