Alger Church Sponsoring Free Monthly Meal

The Alger 1st United Methodist Church will sponsor a Monthly Meal this evening. The meal will be served from 4:30 until 6pm today at the Community Outreach Center, 305 North Main Street in Alger. You can dine in or carry out, and deliveries can be requested by calling 419-204-7910. The April menu is cheesy hamburger rice casserole, green beans, fruit and cookies. There is no charge for the meal.

OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital Continues to Support West Ohio Food Bank by Funding 18,000 Meals

KENTON, Ohio – OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital announced today a donation to the West Ohio Food Bank of $3,000 that will provide the equivalent of 18,000 meals. Governor Signs HB 34 into Law

Governor Mike DeWine signed House Bill 34 on Tuesday. The new law permits a prospective juror who is a mother who is breast-feeding to be excused from jury service. It was sponsored by Representatives Roy Klopfenstien (R-Haviland) and Angela King (R-Celina).

LCSO Bike Rodeo Scheduled May 4

The Logan County Bike Rodeo is scheduled to take place Saturday May 4. It will run from 9am until noon at the Logan County Fairgrounds in Bellefontaine. There will be bike giveaways, free fitted helmets for kids ages 4 through 12 and car seat checks. Emergency squad and fire truck tours and more will also be held. This is a free family event.

Public Expresses Concerns About Hardin Hills Closing

A public hearing concerning the closure of Hardin Hills Health Center was held Tuesday morning. The Hardin County Commissioners held the meeting to hear public comments and concerns regarding the closure of the facility. DeWine Announces Ohio First State in the Nation to Screen Newborn Babies for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today announced that Ohio will become the first state in the nation to begin screening all newborn babies for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). The provision was included in HR 33, the state’s budget bill for Fiscal Years 2024-25, which Gov. DeWine signed in July 2023.
