16 Hardin Hills Employees Facing Disciplinary Procedures for Refusing COVID-19 Vaccine

Several employees of Hardin Hills Health Center are facing disciplinary procedures for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine. At a recent meeting, Hardin Hills Administrator Sharon Huston told Hardin County Commissioners that 16 employees are refusing the vaccine per the new policy. The employees have been told they have one week to comply. The commissioners stated at an earlier meeting that all of the staff members need to be vaccinated, and those who refuse should consider that their voluntary resignation.

DeWine Announces Vaccinations Have Increased Since Vax-a-Million was Announced

Governor Mike DeWine announced Monday that Ohio continues to see increased uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine following the announcement of the Ohio Vax-a-Million promotion. From May 14 through May 19 as compared to May 7 through May 12, vaccinations in Ohio increased 94 percent among those 16 and 17 years old, 46 percent among those 18 and 19 years old, and 55 percent among those between 20 and 49 years old. Richwood Woman Arrested After Brief Foot Pursuit

A Richwood woman was arrested after an incident in Milford City this past weekend. According to the Daily Media Release from the Union County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence on East State Street to investigate the theft of a vehicle and a wallet. During the investigation, the suspect fled the scene and a foot pursuit ensued. The suspect was caught and identified as 20 year old Macee R. Neubauer. Ada Police Department Sergeant Graduates from STEP

The Ada Police Department congratulated Sgt. George Schlub for his graduation from Supervisor Training and Education Program as hosted by the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police.   The STEP program is designed for first-line supervisors and covers 21 learning modules that are needed to meet the job and organizational requirements. Sgt. Schlub was selected out of 30 students as the class representative, delivering the class speech.

Wapakoneta Residents Being Reminded About New Legislation Starting June 3

The Wapakoneta Police Department reminded residents in that city that new legislation pertaining to golf carts and side by side vehicles is set to take effect on June 3rd. 2nd Annual Park-In-The-Park Truck Show Taking Place June 12 in Ada

The Ada VFW will hold the 2nd Annual Park-In-The-Park Car, Truck and Bike Show on Saturday June 12. It will go from noon until 5 that day at War Memorial Park in Ada. Awards and raffles will be presented at 5pm. The show will feature over 6 acres of shaded and open spaces and will be held rain or shine. Proceeds benefit Blue Star Mothers of Hardin County and Ada War Memorial Park.

Kenton School Board to Hire Chad Thrush as Next Superintendent

The Kenton City Schools Board of Education announced this morning their choice for the next superintendent. In a release, board members stated they intend to hire Chad Thrush at a special meeting scheduled for this Wednesday, May 26.  Thrush has been a part of the district for 12 years, 6 of those years serving as high school principal.  The Board is looking forward to working with Thrush and continuing the momentum that has been created by Dr. Jennifer Penczarski.
