Wapak Citizen Donates Bicycles to WPD’s National Night Out

A citizen in Wapakoneta, who recently experienced some good luck, has decided to pay it forward.   Randy Fisher won a motorcycle and decided to donate two bicycles for the Wapakoneta Police Department's National Night Out event happening Tuesday evening.   Thanks to the Noon Optimist Club's of two bicycles as well, there will be a total of four bicycles to be given away to boys and girls at the event.

Average Gas Prices Decline Around the Region

The average price for a gallon of gas in Hardin County today dropped seven cents compared to two weeks ago.   AAA reported that the average price for a gallon of regular grade gas is $2.62, compared to $2.69 on July 22.   That average is the cheapest in our region.   The most expensive price is in Union County where the average price per gallon is $2.82.   The statewide average per gallon is up to $2.76 and the […]

Marion Woman Injured in Weekend Wyandot County Crash

A weekend crash in Wyandot County seriously injured a Marion woman.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, 27 year old Kelly Chick lost control of her vehicle while travelling north on Township Highway 97.   The car went off the west side of the road and struck a tree.   Chick was transported by helicopter to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo.   She was cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence.

Two Men facing Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

Two Kenton men are facing drug charges following a weekend traffic stop in Kenton.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, officers stopped a car for a turn signal violation on West Espy Street near South Leighton Street.   A probable cause search was conducted, and a hypodermic syringe containing a small amount of clear liquid as well as a marijuana joint were seized from the vehicle.   The syringe was sent to the lab for analysis and charges […]

Kenton Woman Reports Identity Fraud

A Kenton woman reported an identity fraud to Kenton police over the weekend.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, the victim said a credit report showed that she has an outstanding bill on a Verizon Wireless account in the amount of $1688.   She said she has phone service with another provider and has never had a Verizon account.   That would indicate someone used her personal information to open an account.    The incident is under investigation.

Vehicle Stolen in Kenton Over the Weekend

A stolen vehicle incident was reported to Kenton police over the weekend.   According to the report, officers were informed that a pickup truck was stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Henry Street.   No suspects were listed on the report, and the incident remains under investigation.
