Shoplifting Reported at Walmart

A theft at Walmart was reported to Kenton Police Wednesday evening.   According to the report, officers were dispatched to the store where the suspect had been detained.   37 year old Tara Wilson, of Kenton, is accused of attempting to leave the store without paying for numerous grocery items.   She was issued a summons for theft.

Fire Destroys Tractor Near Nevada

A tractor was destroyed by fire at a residence near Nevada Wednesday afternoon.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, a deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of Township Highway 62 where he spoke to the owner who said that he parked the trailer in his yard after using it earlier in the day and it caught fire as he was inside his house.   Heavy damage occurred to the cab and engine compartment.

Mary Lou Johnson Library Wrapping Up Summer Reading Program

The Mary Lou Johnson Hardin County District Library will hold a Summer Reading Program Wrap Up Pizza Party this Saturday July 27.   The event will run from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the library in Kenton.   There will be free train rides, pizza and drinks.   Awards will be handed out at noon.

Marysville Police Department Collecting Stuff the Bus Items

The Marysville Division of Police is asking residents to donate school supplies to the "Stuff the Bus" campaign.   New school supplies can be dropped off at the Marysville Police Department located at 1250 West 5th Street.   The campaign is in conjunction with the United Way of Union County and many other community partners.

Infant Dies in Champaign County Canoeing Accident

According to a release from the Champaign County Sheriff's Office, a woman called 9-1-1 to report that her child was on her lap when the canoe encountered fallen trees and debris and the infant fell into the water and disappeared.   Crews from several fire agencies put rescue boats in the water and began to search for the boaters and the missing child.  Additionally, law enforcement officers from Clark County and Ohio Department of Natural Resources also responded to assist […]

County Road 95 Road Project Briefly Postponed

County Road 95, between State Route 309 and County Road 110, was scheduled to be closed for several days starting today, but the road remains open.   According to information from the Hardin County Engineer's Office, the road work and road paving project has been postponed.   The road is expected to be closed sometime next week.

Bellefontaine Police Remind Truckers to Use U.S. 68 Bypass

Safe Haven Holding Purse Bingo July 27

Safe Haven of Hardin County is holding its 8th annual Purse Bingo this Saturday July 27.   Doors will open at 5 and bingo begins at 6 that evening.   The cost for 15 games if purchased in advance is $30 and $35 at the door.   Tickets are available from Hardin County Committee Members.   All proceeds stay in the Hardin County Shelter.
