Goshen Township House Destroyed by Fire

A two story house in Goshen Township was destroyed by fire Tuesday evening. According to information from Marseilles Fire Chief Steve Dickinson, firefighters were dispatched to the 21470 County Road 110 around 7:30 Tuesday evening. Crash Injures Two People in Kenton Tuesday

Two people were injured in a crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Leighton Street and Smith Avenue in Kenton.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, 16 year old Mary McNutt drove from Smith onto Leighton and her car struck a northbound car being operated by 54 year old Paula Biederman.   Disabling damage occurred to both vehicles.   Biederman and a passenger in her car, 32 year old John Biederman, were both transported […]

Man Arrested on Warrant Following Fight in Wyandot County

A Sycamore man was arrested following a report of a fight late Tuesday afternoon in Wyandot County.   According to the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office report, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 4000 block of State Highway 67 to investigate the incident.   It was discovered that one of the individuals involved, Chadrick Beekman, had an active warrant for his arrest out of Seneca County.   Beekman is said to have fled the area when he knew that […]

Two Blood Drives Scheduled July 29 in Kenton

The American Red Cross will hold two more blood drives this month to help with a critical blood shortage.   Both will be held Monday the 29th.   From 9am to 3pm at the Hardin County Courthouse Annex Building on Franklin Street.   And from noon until 6 at the Moose Lodge on West Lima Street.   Call 1-800-RED-CROSS to make an appointment.   Walk-ins are welcome.

Lima Gas Station Scene of Armed Robbery

The Clark Gas station at 603 Findlay Road in Lima was robbed Tuesday morning.  The suspect was wearing gray pants, a sweatshirt with a hood pulled tight and a mask.  He brandished a firearm and demanded money from employees and left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.    If anyone has information about the robbery, contact the Lima Police Department 419-227-4444 or Crime Stoppers 419-229-STOP.

Work at Fairgrounds Continued Despite the Heat

Despite the hot weather this past week, work at the Hardin County Fairgrounds continued as scheduled. Members of the Hardin County Fair Board battled the heat to give the race horse barns a new coat of paint.   The front sign location was prepped for an upgrade, and a technology upgrade was made.  The Fair Board thanked all of the volunteers that helped over the weekend.

One Person Sustains Minor Injuries in Dunkirk Crash Monday

One person escaped with minor injuries as a result of a crash involving a car and semi in Dunkirk late Monday morning.   According to information from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, Amber Smith drove from a red light on Patterson Street onto Main Street. Her car was struck by a southbound semi being operated by Eric Mack, of Detroit, Michigan.   Smith refused transport for suspected minor injury.
