Successful Tree Town Festival Held Over the Weekend in Forest

Columbus Grove Man Killed in Industrial Accident

A Columbus Grove man was killed in an industrial accident that occurred in Putnam County over the weekend.   The Lima News reported that 53 year old Darren E. Langhals was struck in the head by a steel beam while working at Colonial Surface Solutions back on Saturday.   An investigation is expected to be conducted starting today by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.   Columbus Grove is in southern Putnam County near the Allen County line.

Bond Set for Marion County Shooting Suspect

Bond has been set for a shooting suspect in Marion County.   The Marion Star reported that 33 year old Johnny D. Thomas pleaded not guilty to felonious assault, improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation and having weapons while under disability.   Bond was set at $750,000 cash or surety.   Thomas is accused of being one of two shooters involved in a firefight that occurred in late June in which he allegedly fired shots into a house in […]

Weekend News From Kenton Police Department

A Kenton man was arrested following an incident over the weekend.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, officers were notified about a fight in the 300 block of North Detroit Street. 22 year old Scott F. Bailey was arrested and was issued a summons for disorderly conduct by intoxication.   He is scheduled to be in Hardin County Municipal Court this Thursday July 18.   --------------------------------------- A theft was reported to Kenton police over the weekend. ODOT Announces Road Construction Projects

Road construction projects will impact traffic this week around the area.   According to the Ohio Department of Transportation:   State Route 53, between the city of Kenton and the village of Patterson, and State Route 235, between the village of Alger and State Route 67, will both be restricted to one lane for pavement repairs.   State Routes 67 west of Kenton remains closed for culvert replacement.    State Route 701, between State Route 309 and County Road 75, […]

Average Gas Prices Continue to Climb

The average price for a gallon of gas in Hardin County today was up another 7 cents compared to last week.   AAA reported that the average price for a gallon of regular grade gas is $2.74, compared to $2.67 last Monday.   That is by far the cheapest price in the region.   The most expensive price is in Wyandot County where the average price per gallon is $2.92.   The statewide average per gallon is up to $2.83 […]
