The Hardin County Engineer's Office has announced the following roads closed due to high water: .County Road 190, between Township 255 and the Marion County line .County Road 65, between County Road 110 and Township Road 120 High water signs are posted at those locations. Teens Involved in High Speed Pursuit Facing Felony Charges

Two teenagers are facing charges following that Friday morning pursuit that started in Kenton and ended near Lima.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, a vehicle that had been reported as stolen was spotted in town at around six that morning.   A traffic stop was initiated, but the driver fled, leading to a lengthy pursuit.   The vehicle was disabled, and the two juveniles were captured in the Lost Creek residential area near Lima.   A 17 […]

Counterfeit $100 Bill Used at Kenton Business

A report of a counterfeit bill used at a business was reported to Kenton Police on Sunday.   According to the report, an employee of S & S Drive Thru on South Main Street called police to inform them about a counterfeit $100 bill.   A 45 year old Kenton man was listed as the suspect.   No charges have been filed at this time.

Weekly Club 250 Winner Announced

KENTON-Hardin Co. Soroptimist International announced the Club 250 winner for week 29.   Norma Frederick will receive $100.   Club 250 is a fundraiser that helps to award scholarships to local women and girls.

Stretch of S.R. 701 to Close Starting Next Week

State Route 701, between State Route 309 and County Road 75, will close next Monday, June 24 for the replacement of two bridges.   According to a release from the Ohio Department of Transportation, traffic will be detoured onto State Route 309 and U.S. 68 back to State Route 709.   The road will be closed for approximately 45 days.   Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.

Price of Gas Continues to Fall Around the Region

The average price for a gallon of gas in Hardin County dropped another 7 cents from last week.   AAA reported that the average price for a gallon of regular grade gas is $2.48 today, compared to $2.55 from last week.   Hancock County has the cheapest price in the region at $2.38 a gallon.   The most expensive prices are in Logan and Union Counties where the average cost is $2.58 a gallon.   The statewide average per gallon […]

Weekend Burglary in Kenton Under Investigation

A burglary on Grape Street in Kenton was reported to Kenton Police over the weekend.   According to the report, officers responded to the residence in reference to the burglary in progress.   A cell phone, electronic cigarette and a wallet with some cash and personal information were stolen.   The incident is under investigation.

Non-Injury Crash Reported Saturday Afternoon in Kenton

A non-injury crash was reported to Kenton police this past Saturday afternoon.   According to information on the police department's Daily Log Sheet, the crash occurred at the intersection of High and Franklin Streets at around 3:15 Saturday afternoon.   A driver, identified as Teddy J. Paugh, of Ada, was cited for failing to yield from a stop sign.

Kenton School Board Meeting Postponed Until June 25

The Kenton City Schools Board of Education meeting will not be happening tonight.   The meetings are normally held on the third Monday of every month, however the June meeting has been changed.   It is scheduled for Tuesday June 25.   The meeting will start at 7 that evening.   The agenda and meeting place have not yet been announced.
