A crash in Union County Wednesday night injured two people. According to the Daily Media Release from the Union County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the 13,000 block of Fladt Road where a vehicle traveled off the roadway and ended up in a ditch where it then caught fire. Two scholarship winners were announced by the Tree Town Festival committee. Recipients of the 2019 scholarships are Avery Melroy and Abbey Knedler. The 2019 Tree Town Festival is set to take place July 12, 13 and 14 at Gormley Park in Forest.
The Hardin County Young Professionals have secured grant monies to give Pioneer Park a landscaping update. They are looking for volunteers to help to make it happen before Memorial Day. A Dayton woman was cited following a two vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday night on County Road 106 at State Route 309. According to information from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, a vehicle operated by Candie Belanich struck the rear of a vehicle being operated by Faith Sparks, of Kenton. According to a release, the communications staff at the Hardin County Sheriff's Office has been working with the office to achieve compliance for 2019.
