Kenton City Council Meets

The Kenton City Council heard updates from the United States Census Bureau on their 2020 efforts.   According to Cheryl Kellogg, the Census Bureau is gearing up for the upcoming census with their mission of educating and completion of the survey. Hopes are up for a high percentage completion rate with the inclusion of the first ever online census ballot being offered. Crash Reported on County Road 160 This Morning

Emergency crews were dispatched to an accident this morning on County 160 at County 195.   Scanner traffic indicated a vehicle encountered water on the roadway and ended up off the road where it struck a tree.   No other information is available at this time.

KFD Flowing Hydrants in Northwest Section of Kenton

The Kenton Fire Department will be flowing hydrants in the northwest section of Kenton today.   For residents in that area, that could mean some discolored water, which is normal during the process.   Officials at the department reminded residents that they should run an empty load of laundry in their washer to help clear up the system.

Kenton City Council Meeting Tonight

Kenton City Council is scheduled to meet tonight.   Cheryl Kellogg has requested time to speak about the 2020 census presentation.   Several ordinances and resolutions will be on first reading tonight as well.   The 9th regular session of the year will start at 7 this evening in the Kenton City Building.

Hardin Hills Observing National Nursing Home Week

Yesterday was the kick-off of National Nursing Home Week.   Activities are planned all week for residents of Hardin Hills Health Center.   They include on Thursday, Sonja from the Mary Lou Johnson Library playing her saxophone, and the county commissioners serving cake and ice cream.   A shelter dog will be visiting, and music played from 10:30- 11:30 am.   President Kennedy proclaimed May as Senior Citizen's Month in 1963, and President Carter changed it to Older Americans Month […]

Junior Fair Entries for 2019 Hardin County Fair Being Accepted

KENTON-Hardin Co. Soroptimist International announced the Club 250 winners for weeks 23 and 24.   Amy Alt-Coan and Jessica Hinson will each receive $100.   Club 250 is a fundraiser that helps to award scholarships to local women and girls.
