May is NF Awareness Month

The month of May is Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month.   Local resident Larry Gossard, who's now 11 years old son Brice was diagnosed with NF when he was 10 months old , has worked hard to raise awareness and funds for research.   Gossard's efforts resulted in a law passed in Ohio, which proclaims the month as NF Awareness Month.   It is the only state in the U.S. to have passed such a law.   For the complete discussion on […]

Wet and Cool Weather Hampers Field Work in April

Hardin County – For the time period of April 15-30, Extension rainfall reporters recorded an average of 4.08 inches of rain in Hardin County. Last year, the average rainfall for the same time period was 1.56 inches. Rainfall for the April 15-30 time period is 1.92 inches more than the ten-year average rainfall during the same dates. ONU Graduations Start May 12

Ohio Northern University will celebrate the crowning achievement in the lives of its students during upcoming commencement exercises in the King-Horn Sports Center Field House. ONU President Daniel DiBiasio will preside over the ceremonies. The Raabe College of Pharmacy and undergraduate colleges, as well as the Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) program, will hold their ceremonies on May 12, and the Pettit College of Law commencement is scheduled for May 19. Wyandot County Sheriff’s Deputy Forced to Fire Shots at Attacking Dog

A Wyandot County Sheriff's Deputy was forced to discharge his service weapon after being attacked by a pit bull dog Wednesday.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 5000 block of State Highway 53 in reference to a dog bite and domestic situation.   It was discovered that a father and son exchanged punches, and during the time, the son's pitbull bit the father in the face.   […]

May 2019 Hardin Leadership Class Held at Sheriff’s Office

The 2019 Hardin Leadership Class heard from Chief Deputy Dennis Burns, from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office during a class today. Burns spoke on Ethics in Leadership. The class was held in the training room at the sheriff's office. Hardin Leadership was lauded by the Sheriff's Office as a great way to hone your leadership skills as well as learning more about the community and government. They encouraged citizens to consider attending the 2020 class.

Riverdale Seniors Sign with Local Companies

Two soon to be graduates of Riverdale know what they'll be doing after graduation. Seniors Creed Blakley and Elijah Freed signed to work for local companies at the Millstream Career Center Signing Day. Blakley will be employed by Findlay Implement, and Freed will work for Vaughn Industries in Carey.
