Two Men Injured in Separate Brush Fires in Wyandot County

Two Wyandot County residents were injured in separate events by using gasoline to start brush fires on their properties.   The first occurred Saturday at a residence in the 5000 block of Township Highway 11 in Sycamore where Michael Gobs suffered severe burns to both of his legs.   The second happened Sunday in the 8000 block of County Highway 91 in Wharton, where the victim was identified as Bill Rickle.   Both men were taken by helicopter to St. […]

Kenton City Council will take care of a light agenda when it meets tonight.   An ordinance authorizing the grant of an easement for alley in the city, will be up for first reading.   The meeting starts at 7 this evening in the Kenton City Building.

Home and 3 Vehicles Spray Painted; Windshields Broken on 2 Vehicles

A criminal damaging and vandalism occurred at a residence in the 100 block of East Railroad Street over the weekend.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, officers were dispatched to the scene to investigate.   A home and three vehicles on the property had been spray painted, and two of the vehicles had broken windshields.   No suspects were listed, and the incident is still under investigation.

Traffic Stop Leads to Curfew Violations Against Kenton Teens

Four Kenton  teenagers were arrested for curfew violations following a traffic stop over the weekend.   According to the report, officers conducted the traffic stop on Espy Street at Leighton Street.   The 16 year old male driver was also cited for no operator's license.   The other teens were a 15 year old boy and 16 and 17 year old girls.   All four were released to the custody of an adult.

Kenton Woman Reports Weekend Theft of Cell Phone

A theft was reported to Kenton police over the weekend.   According to the report, a Kenton woman told officers her cell phone was stolen while she was at a restaurant in town.   The phone is valued at $800.   There were no suspects listed on the report, and the incident remains under investigation.

Diabetes Support Group Meeting Scheduled

OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital is holding a Diabetes Support Group meeting on Wednesday, April 10 at 1 p.m. in the McCullough Conference Room.   This support group will have a focus on eye disorders related to diabetes and an overview of how improving our health will improve diabetes and those conditions related to diabetes.   The presentation will be provided by Dr. Todd Oates, of Kenton Family Eye Care.   For any further questions, call (419) 675-8249.

Hardin Northern FFA Holds Chapter Banquet

Hardin Northern FFA hosted their Chapter Banquet on Thursday, April 4th. The night was filled with a catered meal, award recognitions, degree ceremonies, a live auction, and scholarship presentations. The meal was catered by Graze On from Waynesfield. While attendees enjoyed their meals, the chapter recognized the various Career Development Event teams that competed throughout the year: Rural Soils, Job Interview, General Livestock, Wildlife Management and Floriculture. Kenton Elks 157 Ritual Team Wins Weekend Ritualistic Competition

The 121st Ohio Elks Convention has come to a close and during the weekend the Kenton Elks 157 Ritual Team claimed victory for the Ritualistic Competition. With the high team score of 98.416, Kenton advances to the National Competition at the 151st Grand Lodge Convention in St. Louis, Missouri on June 30th through July 3rd.
