Woman Reports Fraudulent Use of Credit Card

A Kenton woman reported the fraudulent use of her credit card to Kenton police on Thursday.   According to the report, the 72 year old victim said a relative of hers used her credit card information without her authorization.   There were 6 western union cash advances made on the card totaling just over $530.   A 34 year old Kenton woman was listed as the suspect, but she has not yet been charged as the incident remains under investigation.

Belle Center Woman Issued Summons for Theft

A Belle Center woman was issued a summons following a shoplifting reported at Family Dollar in Kenton.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, officers were dispatched to the store at around 7:40 Thursday evening.   The suspect, identified as 51 year old Shelley Scott, was cited for theft and possessing criminal tools.   She is scheduled to be in Hardin County Municipal Court on April 11.

Semi Trailer Loaded with Livestock Struck by Train in Putnam County

The driver of a semi escaped injury after his trailer hauling livestock was struck by a train Thursday afternoon.   This happened in Putnam County, south of Ottawa.   Hometown Stations reported that the semi got stuck on the tracks, and the trailer was struck by the oncoming train.   The Putnam County Sheriff's Office handled the crash.   It is not known how many of the 29 cows on the trailer were killed.

Crop Yields for 2018 Growing Season Released

Hardin County – As Hardin County farmers get ready to plant this year’s corn and soybeans, crop yields from the 2018 growing season have been released from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service. Although these crop production numbers are based on estimates, they are used for crop insurance and government reporting purposes. St. John’s Presents “Passion of the Christ” Portrayal

St. John’s Evangelical Church in Kenton will present its annual portrayal of “The Passion of Christ.”   This event will take place, Thursday and Friday evening, April 18 & 19 @ 8:00 p.m.   The Passion of Christ Play is a portrayal of the last week of Christ’s life on Earth.   These performances are free and open to the public. A free will offering will be taken to benefit local charities.

No Students Injured in Crash Involving Mohawk School Bus
