Safe Haven Holding Bowling Fundraiser

Safe Haven of Hardin County is holding a bowling fundraiser on Sunday April 28.   The event will be held at Norada Lanes on State Route 235 north of Ada, and will feature a Chinese Auction and 50/50 drawing.   The cost is $20 per person, and all proceeds benefit Safe Haven.   To register and to donate items for the Chinese Auction,  call 419-234-5850.

Kenton City Schools District Holds Transportation Meeting

The Kenton City Schools District held its transportation study and recommendations meeting last night, with a representative from the Ohio School Boards Association.   Doug Palmer, the Transportation Consultant for the OSBA, presented those in attendance with a detailed report of his recommendations concerning proposed changes to the Kenton City Schools busing systems.   The OSBA recommended implementing “Plan C”, which is a two-tier system for the entire district. Trial Date Set for Former Crossroads Executive Director

A trial date has been set for the former executive director of Crossroads Crisis Center. The Lima News reported that 66 year old Emily Wrencher is accused of stealing around $7500 from the non profit organization allegedly by using the agency's credit card for personal use. A city-wide Boil Water Advisory is in effect for Kenton.   Water was turned off last night so crews could replace a water valve in the area of Marie and High Streets due to failure.   The city-wide Boil Water Advisory is in effect until further notice.

Kenton Woman Facing Charges Following Monday Evening Incident

A Kenton woman was arrested and is facing several charges following an incident reported to Kenton Police Monday evening.   According to the report, officers were dispatched to a house on North Barron Street on a report of an intoxicated female leaving the residence.   Following an investigation, officers arrested 39 year old Angela LeVan.   She has been charged with felonious assault and for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Lima Man Arrested in Kenton Monday Night

A Lima man is facing several charges after being arrested by Kenton police Monday night.   According to the report, officers responded to the 200 block of South Leighton Street in reference to a man that was getting into a car that didn't belong to him.   The investigating officer observed the suspect, later identified as 39 year old Joshua Dienhart, walking in the street.   Witnesses pointed Dienhart out as the man who entered someone's vehicle.   The suspect […]
