2026 Hardin County Pork Banquet Set for March 21

The 2026 annual Hardin County Pork Banquet will be held on Sunday, March 21 at the Upper Scioto Valley School District’s auditorium. Rhodes State College Rhodes State College in Lima encourages you to celebrate Children’s Dental Health Month with a healthy smile. They are offering free cleanings and x-rays for kids 12 and under during February at the Rhodes State Dental Hygiene Clinic. Call 419-995-8346 to book a spot. Hardin County OSU Extension Master Gardeners The Hardin County Master Gardener Volunteer program will be holding their Spring Seminar on Thursday, March 12. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the program from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m at Memorial Park Golf Clubhouse. The registration deadline is March 5, and the class size is limited. Club Kaboom at Forest Library Tuesday Afternoons

Forest-Jackson Public Library's Club Kaboom will be held on Tuesday afternoons. It's an opportunity for kids to have fun with science and crafts. Club Kaboom takes place every Tuesday from 4:30 until 5:30pm. Yesterday, a visitor from "Keep Hardin County Beautiful" was there talking about the importance of recycling and what we can do to be nice to our Earth. Ada Elementary Students Wrap Up Successful SOUPer Bowl Challenge

Kindergarten through 5 grade students at Ada stepped up and made a big impact through the SOUPER Bowl Challenge. Thanks to the generosity and teamwork of the elementary students and families, 670 food items were donated to support local food banks and homeless shelters in partnership with the United Way of Hardin County. Mrs. Porter’s Kindergarten class brought in the most items and won a pizza party as part of the friendly competition.

Gundy to Present Colloquium on Poetry and Power at Bluffton University

BLUFFTON, Ohio — Dr. Jeff Gundy, professor emeritus of English, will present a faculty colloquium titled “Further Adventures Among the Phantom Powers” at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20. Gundy will share reflections from his ongoing work in poetry and literary criticism, exploring imagination, language and cultural influence. Faculty colloquia at Bluffton University highlight scholarly and creative work by faculty members and provide opportunities for campus and community dialogue. This event is free and open to the public.
