The Hardin County Ag Society will meet this Wednesday, March 4. Items under new business on the agenda include March and April Rentals and P&R Communications quote for radio use during the fair. Township Road 190/State Route 15 Intersection Permanently Closed in Hancock County

Photo: Ohio Department of Transportation The intersection of Township Road 190 at State Route 15 in Hancock County is permanently closed starting today. Barrels and barricades will be placed at the intersection to eliminate access to State Route 15. Work to remove the pavement, cut in the ditch, and install right-of-way fence will follow as weather permits. The work is a planned phase following the construction of the County Road 193 overpass. Ohio Employers Save $10 Million With New Rate Cut

COLUMBUS— Ohio’s private employers will be paying approximately $10 million less in workers' compensation premiums thanks to another rate reduction under the direction of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. Today, BWC's Board of Directors approved a 1% rate cut for private employers, which will take effect July 1, 2026. Two Killed in Early-Morning US 6 Crash in Vermilion Township in Erie County

Vermilion Township – On February 27, 2026 at 2:07 a.m., the Ohio State Highway Patrol Sandusky Post was dispatched to a single vehicle crash on US 6 near mile marker 25 in the Township of Vermilion, Erie County. Blanchard Township/Dunkirk Recycling will be held on Tuesday, March 10th ,2026 in the parking lot of the former Price Funeral Home. The 2nd recycling date is scheduled for Thursday, March 26th ,2026. BoatUS Foundation Accepting Applications for New Life Jacket Loaner Pilot Program 

Local organizations, businesses encouraged to apply to expand access to essential boating safety equipment in their communities.  The BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water announced that it is now accepting applications for new pilot program for their Life Jacket Loaner Program. The pilot will introduce digital check out technology to make borrowing life jackets for a day or weekend easier and more accessible for boaters. Organizations such as parks, marinas, campgrounds, fire departments, fuel docks, and waterfront businesses are encouraged to apply before March 27, 2026. The program removes cost and access barriers, helping more families, especially children, stay safe on the water.   Organizations can apply […]
