BLUFFTON, Ohio – Bluffton University has been awarded a Choose Ohio First (COF) grant by the Ohio Department of Higher Education to support students in critical STEM fields. The four-year $43,255 grant will support students majoring in biology, chemistry, communication sciences and disorders, environmental science, information technology, mathematics, mathematics education, medical laboratory science, nursing, nutrition and dietetics, pre-engineering, pre-occupational therapy and pre-physical therapy. Sergeant Andrew P. Geer, Mt. Gilead Post, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant on June 28 and was recognized late last week by Colonel Charles A. Governor DeWine Awards $3.2 Million to Expand Career Tech Manufacturing Programs Across Ohio

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) Director Stephen D. Dackin last week announced the award of $3.2 million in Career-Technical Education Access Grants. A total of 10 Career Technical Planning Districts and Ohio Technical Centers across the state will each receive $320,000 to establish new manufacturing career-technical education programs in communities where students currently lack access to these opportunities.
