Kenton Takes Tight Match Against Bath

The Wildcats traveled to Bath on Friday for a Western Buckeye League match and came away with a narrow 173-175 victory over the Wildcats of Bath. Kenton was led by Austin Root, who posted the low round of the match with a 41. Oliver Sneary followed with a 43, while Quin Kozman carded a 44. Benjamin Logan Sweeps Urbana

The Benjamin Logan Raiders traveled to Urbana for a CBC crossover volleyball match and came away with a convincing 3-0 victory. Winning 25-18, 25-19 and 25-20 to secure the sweep. Benjamin Logan was led offensively by Georgia Daniels with 11 kills, while Summer Cline added 7 kills. While Autumn Cline directed the offense with 20 assists. At the net, Abby Vance contributed 3 kills, 3 blocks and 3 aces and Storm LeVan added 2 kills. Defensively, Brielle Kline recorded a 2.00 passing rating, while Lydia Johnson posted a strong 2.40 passing rating.

Wildcats Fall in Home Opener

The Kenton girls soccer team hosted Ben Logan at Merold Field for their home opener. It was a back-and-forth first half that finished 0-0. The Wildcats scored first in the second half off of a free kick by Maddy Wood but Ben Logan would respond with 3 unanswered goals to win 3-1 The Wildcats will host Shawnee next Tuesday at Merold Field at 7pm to open WBL play.

LCC Defeats USV in Three Sets

On Tuesday August 24th USV took on Lima Central Catholic in a varsity volleyball contest. The Thunderbirds took the match in 3 sets.  Leading the Rams were: Kamyn Titus: 1 Ace, 5 kills 2 assists, 1 solo block and 7 digs Ruby Risner: 2 kills and 12 digs Audrey Lawrence: 5 assists and 8 digs

Ben Logan Girls Golf Moves to 2-2

The Benjamin Logan varsity girls golf team had their best team score of the year to win a dual golf match against Graham at Cherokee Hills Golf Course on Tuesday. Benjamin Logan had a team score of 201 while Graham turned in a team score of 243. The Raiders move to 2-2 in CBC play. Balanced Cats defeat Bulldogs for first WBL win

Kenton Boys Golf defeated Elida in a home WBL match. The balanced Wildcats defeated the Bulldogs 178-185. Austin Root paced the Wildcats with a round of 42, followed by Anden Goldsmith’s 44. Brayden Lowe posted a 45, while Oliver Sneary, Rhoen Goldsmith, and Quin Kozman each came in with a 47. Kenton moves to 1-2 in the WBL and 3-2 overall.

Cats fall to Otsego

The Lady Wildcats traveled to Otsego Monday night to face the Knights. Despite firing off 22 shots and getting 15 saves from Hadley Wilson, the Cats came up short, falling 1-3 in the toughly contested game. Kenton’s lone goal came from a free kick scored by Maddy Wood. The Wildcats will be back in action in their home opener against Benjamin Logan tonight at 5:00pm.
