A couple of schools in our region remain alive in the Ohio High School Athletic Association football playoffs. In Division VI, Region 24, Marion Local will take on Versailles Wapakoneta. Allen East will play New Madison Tri-Village at Bellefontaine. The Regional Semifinal games will kick-off at 7 this Saturday evening. Tickets must be purchased in advance at: ohsaa.org/tickets
Upper Sandusky High School cross country runners Ashton Vent and Evan Hinesman who will be competing in the D-II State Cross Country Championship this Saturday, November 5th, 1:00 p.m. at Fortress Obetz. Riverdale fell to state ranked Ottawa-Glandorf 3-0 in what was the Lady Falcon's first appearance at regionals. The Falcons came in on the heels of seven straight wins and the school's first district championship in girl's soccer. While goalkeeper Angelina Sierra had some great saves the time of possession was dominated by Ottawa-Glandorf and the constant pressure from the top 25 ranked Titans was too much to handle as Riverdale's offense was stifled.
Several regional high school football teams are still alive in the Ohio High School Athletic Association regional quarterfinal playoffs. In Division VI, Region 22, Colonel Crawford is at Carey. Division VI Region 24, Paint Valley is at Allen East. In Division VII Region 26, Gibsonburg is at Waynesfield-Goshen. All games will kick off at 7pm on Friday November 4. Riverdale Lady Falcons Celebrate a victory over the Bluffton Pirates, on October 29. The District match up went to double OT with a final score of 2-1. The Falcons took home the district championship and moved to Regionals for the first time in Riverdale school history.

Ashton finished 3rd (16:21) and Evan finished 14th (16:42) at the regional meet at Hedges-Boyer Park in Tiffin on Saturday. The defending state champion Carey Blue Devils opened playoff action by topping Riverdale 49-6 in Division 6, Region 22 quarterfinal action Friday. The Blue Devils scored touchdowns on each of their seven first-half possessions to grab control of the game. Loukas Carter had an 11-yard touchdown run to account for Riverdale's points. The Blue Devils improve to 11-0 and advance to next week's regional semifinals while the Falcons conclude their year at 5-6.
