Bluffton Grad Finds Success on National Stage

An athlete from our region had success on the national stage. Trevor Bassitt won the indoor 400m USATF national championship. He is a senior at Ashland University and a graduate of Bluffton High School.   Bassitt is the first collegian to win the national championship in the indoor 400m since 1990.  He qualified for team USA and will run at the IAAF world indoor track and field championships in Belgrade, Serbia next month.

ONU Alumnus to Compete in 800-Meter Run at USATF Indoor Championships

ADA — Ohio Northern alumnus Emily Richards is competing in the 800-meter run at the USATF Indoor Championships at The Podium in Spokane, Wash., on Saturday and Sunday. Richards will compete against 17 other runners in the 800 prelim on Saturday at 6:24 p.m. (EST).The 800 final is scheduled for Sunday at 5:22 p.m. (EST). Senior Mason Brandt from Leipsic was voted conference player of the year in a unanimous vote by conference coaches. Hardin Northern Announces Changes to Some Sporting Events

The Hardin Northern Athletic Department announced an update to the schedule of sporting events. HN Boys Basketball Team Gets a Visit from Coach Cook

The Hardin Northern Boys Basketball was grateful to receive a visit this week from Coach Jon Cook.   Coach Cook attended practice to pass along some sound words of wisdom and a few coaching tips as the Polar Bears enter the halfway point of the season and get ready for a competitive second half.   The Hardin Northern Coaching staff also expressed their gratitude for the time and consideration that Coach Cook spent sharing his thoughts and perspectives to the young players.

Flex Pass Available for Kenton Winter Sports Season

Kenton Athletics is offering a Flex Pass for the Winter Sports Season.  The Flex Pass will allow entrance into any 10 High School and Middle School home Athletic events in the Winter Sports Season.  Once the pass has been scanned for a total of 10 events, it will no longer be active and another pass will need to be purchased.  Passes can be purchased now at: https://kentonathletics.com/online-ticketing/ The price for adults is $50 and $25 for students.

Tickets for Saturday night's Hardin Northern at Ada boys basketball game are on sale now. Ben Logan Grad Becomes Assistant Coach of OSU Women’e Volleyball Team

A Benjamin Logan graduate has been promoted to a full-time assistant coaching position. Head Coach Jen Flynn Oldenburg announced that Nicole Fawcett will assume that role effective immediately.
