Riverdale to Hire New Head Boys Basketball Coach

Riverdale may have its next head boys basketball coach. According to information on the Riverdale Falcons Facebook page, Andrew "Drew" Hobensack will be named the next head coach of the team. That is pending approval of the Riverdale Board of Education at the May meeting. Coach Hobensack has been the Junior Varsity coach for the last 6 years.

Griffin Promoted to Assistant Football Coach at ONU

ADA — Andre Griffin has been promoted to full-time assistant football coach at Ohio Northern. Griffin has spent the past two seasons as a part-time assistant coach at ONU. He will coach the receivers and serve as recruiting coordinator. Prior to coming to ONU in 2020, he spent the previous five seasons as the head coach at nearby Lima Senior High School. Riverdale Baseball Team Splits Doubleheader with HN; Riverdale Softball Team Slips Past Elida

In Riverdale Baseball action over the weekend, Riverdale defeated Hardin Northern 12-2 in the first game. The Polar Bears then doubled up the Falcons 8-4 Riverdale is now 12-3 overall and 4-0 in the Blanchard Valley Conference. The Riverdale Softball Team outscored Elida by a final of 15-13. Ada Junior Track Meet Scheduled

The 2nd annual Ada Junior Track Meet has been scheduled for Sunday May 1.   All students in grades K-6 are encouraged to participate.   Medals will be awarded to top places and every student will get a T-Shirt.   Students were provided a registration form last Friday.   Additional copies can be picked up in the elementary office if needed.   Registration forms are due tomorrow.

ONU’s Richards Running in USATF Bermuda Games

Ohio Northern University legend and nine-time national champion Emily Richards will run in the USATF Bermuda Games this weekend.  The first ever Bermuda Games will see the world’s top track & field competitors from more than 20 countries go head-to-head.  Television coverage of the games will be on NBC on Saturday from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m., with Richards running at 4:05 tomorrow afternoon.  In addition to running professionally, Richards is an assistant coach with the ONU track & field teams.
