Late 3 Point Shot Propels Celina Over Kenton in Girls Basketball

Celina pulled ahead with a 3 point shot with under a minute left to defeat the Kenton Lady Wildcats 48-41. The Cats were led by Jenna Manns with 14 points. Lindsey Smith had 9 while Sidney Plott and Kenzie Bays each had 7. Celina was led by Taylor Klingshirn with 15 points. Maria Lutz had 10 points while Emma Horman had 7 points and Carly Eichler had 6.

The Kenton Middle School wrestlers grabbed five wins Thursday night in a dual meet against Celina. Unfortunately, it was not enough as the wildcats fell to Bulldogs 25-58 in the dual meet. Karson Davis (98 lbs), Anthony Hunt (110 lbs), Landen Elliott (122 lbs) and Tim Wilkinson (172 lbs) all won their matches and Eli Kauble (245 lbs) picked up a win by forfeit. Kenton Youth Wrestling Team Competes at St. Marys

The Kenton Youth Wrestling Team traveled to St. Marys on Sunday, Dec. 15th to compete in an eight team MVKWA mini-meet. Kids are paired up into 4-man round robin groups by age and weight. Kenton sent forty-two wrestlers who competed against kids from Wapakoneta, Elida, Dephos Tri-County, Lima Central Catholic, Ottawa Glandorf, Cory Rawson and the host St. Marys. Kenton Defeats Riverdale in Girls Basketball Action

The Kenton Lady Wildcats defeated Riverdale 53-32 over the weekend. The Cats used a strong 3rd quarter to top the Falcons. Lindsey Smith was the leading scorer for the Cats with 16 points. Kenzie Bays had 14 and Sid Plott added 10. Riverdale was led by Reagan Mckinnis and Lanie Howell with 8 points each. The 2 quarter JV game was won by Kenton 33-13.

KMS Wrestlers Finish 7th Out of 19 Teams in Weekend Tournament

The Kenton Middle School Wrestling team finished strong with 167 team points in the Allen East Tournament on Saturday placing 7th out of nineteen teams. Six wildcats placed in their weight classes. The Kenton Wildcats rallied past Riverdale for a 45-43 victory in boys basketball action Saturday. Coby Miller hit a baseline jumper with a minute to play to give Riverdale a 43-41 lead, but Jayden Cornell drained a three-pointer with 17.3 seconds left to put the Wildcats on top 44-43.
