Kenton Bowling Team Advances to District Level for First Time in School History

The Kenton Boys Bowling team made history over the weekend. The team finished 2nd overall at the Division III Sectional Tournament in Fostoria, and advanced as a team to the District tournament. Riverdale Defeats HN in Weekend Girls Basketball Game

The Riverdale Falcons defeated the Hardin Nothern Polar Bears 53-40 in girls basketball play Saturday afternoon. The Falcons (8-12) were led by Carrigan Vent, who scored 12 points, and Callie Sudlow, who added 11 more markers. Maddie Grappy led all scorers with 14 points for the Polar Bears (7-14).

Cornell Tallies 1000th Career Point

The Ottawa-Glandorf Titans improved to 14-3 with a 73-48 win over the Kenton Wildcats Friday.The Titans connected on 14 three-point shots as they moved to 6-1 in the Western Buckeye League. The Wildcats (0-14 overall, 0-6 WBL) were led in scoring by Jayden Cornell, who scored 14 points and tallied his 1,000th career point in the process. Cornell was named the Ace Hardware Player of the Game.

Upper Scioto Valley had a signing day celebration for Zack Britton on Wednesday. Recently, he signed with the University of Findlay to continue his academic, cross country, and track and field career.  Britton was accompanied at the signing ceremony by Coach Charles Renner, mother Melissa Martin and step-father Bill Martin.

Elwood School Joining Blanchard Valley Conference

A Wood County school is leaving the Northern Buckeye Conference and joining the Blanchard Valley Conference. The Board of Education at Elmwood Local Schools voted at its meeting this week to make the move. The Royals move to the BVC will be effective with the 2023-24 school year if not sooner. The school announced that the move will allow games against teams of similar size to Elmwood. Tiffin Columbian Defeats Kenton in Boys Basketball

The Tiffin Columbian Torandoes held off the Kenton Wildcats 64-51 in boys basketball action Saturday. Five players scored at least eight points for Tiffin Columbian, led by Logan Beaston's game-high 21 points. Tiffin Columbian (16-3) also got 14 points from L.J. Reaves and 12 markers from Cyrus Burden. Kenton (0-13) was led by Jayden Cornell, who scored 20 points, and Gavin Payne, who added 11 points. Cornell and Payne were named the Ace Hardware Players of the Game.
