Justin Thiel, Sophomore Hardin Northern shot 383 at the 2nd rd of NWCC tourney at Kings Mills Golf Club. Waynesfield Goshen 410 and Ridgemont 441 were the other teams to compete with a team score. HardinNorthern was led by Justin Thiel with an 86, Preston Grappy with 87, Zeb Wilson with 94 and Lauren Lenhart with 116.
The Kenton Lady Cats started WBL play tonight with a tough fought win over the Bulldogs. Kenton took a 1-0 lead to the half after Emily Pees scored unassisted with 13 minutes left in the first half. Strong serving help Wildcats cruise past the Golden Gophers in 3 sets (25-15, 25-11, 25-11) Brinley Hites lead scoring with 21 pts, followed Riley Totten with 20 and Morgan Lyons with 14. Lyons added 10 kills, Sadie Larabee had 9 kills 1 block, Macee Heckathorn and Cailyn Hopkins added 5 kills each Freshman and JV Wildcats rounded out an over all sweep winning their matches. The Wildcats will be back in action Thursday at home against Bath.
The boys golf team picks up their first WBL win tonight againt Celina. Grady Baum led the team with a 44. Landon Plaugher finished just behind with a 46.Hunter Furr and Stone Sauber followed with a 56 and 57.
Leif Trachsel, Senior Arcadia won 179-204 over Hardin Northern. Medalist was Arcadia’s Brayton Hindall with a 40. Hardin Northern was led by Preston Grappy 45, Justin Thiel 46, and Zeb Wilson 47.
The Lady Wildcats travelled to Van Wert and fought to the end again to get a 3 set win 25-19, 17-25, 25-23. Down 22-23 in the 3rd set, Ady Osborn served the last 3 points to secure the victory. Thanks To Connor Defibaugh's 4 goal performance the Cats defeated Ben Logan Thursday night in the home opener for Kenton. In a dominating performance the Cats won 5-0 and improved to 2-0 on the young season. Kenton scored in the 1st half about 12 minutes to go up 1-0.
