Parents and guardians are encouraged to download the My Ride K-12 bus app to stay up to date the child's transportation information and drop-off times. Discounted Hardin County Fair Season Tickets on Sale

Season tickets for the 2026 Hardin County Fair remain on sale at a discounted price. The cost is $30 if purchased now through Thursday, September 3. Beginning Friday, September 4th, prices increase to $35. You can purchase tickets at Fair Office at 14134 Letson Avenue in Kenton. Office hours are Monday through Friday 9am until 5pm. The fair runs September 8-13.

Blanchard Township/Dunkirk Recycling Day Set for Thursday

The next Blanchard Township/Dunkirk Recycling Day will be this Thursday, August 27. The recycling truck will be between the new hours of 8:00-11:30am in the parking lot of the former Price Funeral Home in Dunkirk. This project is sponsored by the North Central Ohio Solid Waste District in cooperation with the Blanchard Township Trustees and the Village of Dunkirk.

Hardin County Sheriff Welcomes New Cadet to Sheriff’s Office

Hardin County Sheriff's Office Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart welcomed Cadet Braiden Zapp Sheriff's Office team last week. A Hardin County resident, Cadet Zapp is a graduate of Upper Scioto Valley and Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, where he completed the Criminal Justice Program. He takes the next major step in his career today by joining the Ohio Basic Police Officer Training Academy at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy. Cadet Zapp's anticipated graduation date is January 15, 2027.

CSX Railroad to Close Several Crossings for Repairs in Kenton

CSX Railroad will be repairing several crossings in the city beginning today. Work is expected to start today at crossings on Detroit, Leighton, and Franklin Streets. They will be closed while important upgrades are completed. The work is expected to last 5 to 6 days. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and be ready for a few detours.

Van Wert County Crash Claims Life of 19-Year-Old

Tully Township – The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Van Wert Post is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on August 21, 2026, at approximately 9:04 A.M. on US-30 and State Route 49 in Van Wert County. A 2010 Toyota Corolla was being driven southbound on State Route 49 by Kaci Rae Sentelik, age 19, of Payne. Dolores Annabelle Warmbrod, 91, of Kenton, passed away August 21, 2026. She was born in Kenton, OH, May 1, 1935, to John and Dorothy (Gerlach) Sprang. In March 1953, she married Russell Warmbrod and he preceded her in death.
