Ohio EPA Issues Statewide Air Quality Advisory Due to Wildfire Smoke

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio EPA has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory until midnight tonight (07/17/26) as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality. Ohio EPA will issue an expiration notice when the air quality improves, and the smoke has left the region. Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” category in the southwestern part of the state to the “Unhealthy” category in the rest of the state. Over 200 4-H projects were judged at this week's Life Skills project judging.  State Award winners will represent Hardin County at the Ohio State Fair, and State fair packets can be obtained starting today at the OSU Extension Office. McKenna Holloway Joins Findlay Police Department Patrol Division

Findlay Police Department The Findlay Police Department announced the hiring of a new officer. McKenna Holloway was sworn in this morning by Mayor Christina Muryn. Officer Holloway, who is 24 years of age. She is a graduate from Elida High School and a 2026 graduate from the Apollo Career Center Police Academy. Holloway resides in the Columbus Grove area with her husband and son. She will be assigned to the department’s Patrol Division.
