Lighted Buoys Coming to Indian Lake This Summer for Safer Navigation

Indian Lake Chamber Visitors to Indian Lake will notice something new this summer. The Indian Lake Chamber has announced that lighted buoys on the lake are being added this season. In addition to aesthetics, they will provide safer navigation on the water. The lighted buoys are being made possible by the Indian Lake Boaters Helping Boaters group.

Drug Free Marion Coalition The Drug Free Marion Coalition is holding a Family Fun Day tomorrow. The event will run from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Marion Coliseum. Free lunch will be provided while supplies last. Also, kids can enjoy bounce houses, face painting, and kid-friendly activities provided by over 30 exhibitors. At 2 a.m. Sunday, the clocks spring forward to 3 a.m. For those who still rely on a manual alarm clock, you will want to set clocks ahead before going to bed Saturday night, or else you will be an hour late for everything Sunday morning. Most of the United States observes this change, except for Arizona and Hawaii. Also, several U.S. territories, including Puerto Rico, remain on standard time year-round.

Ridgeway Man Pleads Guilty to Strangulation Charge in Hardin County

A Ridgeway man pleaded guilty to one count of strangulation, a third-degree felony, in Hardin County Common Pleas Court this week. In September of 2025, James G. Jenkins was indicted on two counts of strangulation and one count of felonious assault following an incident in October of 2024. Judge Steve Christopher ordered a presentence investigation. Jenkins will be sentenced on April 15.
