Wyandot County Approved for State Grant to Construct New Jail

Wyandot County was approved for a state grant to construct a new jail. According to a release from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Wyandot County will receive 19.4 million dollars to support construction of the new jail. The project will increase the number of beds in the jail and provide additional beds for males and females with special needs. Riverdale Falcons Advance to Semi-Regionals Against Leipsic Tomorrow

Photo: Riverdale Falcons Baseball Division IV District Finals were recently held in Findlay.  The Riverdale Falcons were able to take home the win against McComb with an ending score of Riverdale 4 and McComb 0. The Falcons were able to complete a season long shutout and are now district champions. The Falcons will play in the semi-regionals tomorrow at 2:00pm in Elida against Leipsic.

Ada Athlete Jackson Brown Breaks School Record and Advances to State

Photo: Ada Bulldogs Ada Bulldog Jackson Brown broke his own school record by running a 14.7 recently on his way to becoming the regional champion and advancing to the state track meet in the 110 hurdles.Ada also celebrated the boys 4x100 relay who finished 7th place at the May 24th event and tied the Ada school record set in 1980 by running a 44.5.

Hardin Northern Invites Public to Join Them for Send Off for Riley Newton

Photo: Hardin Northern Local School District Hardin Northern Student Riley Newton is headed to state after mastering his most recent event where he set a new school record of 49.99 in the 400m.  Newton is state bound track and will run the semi-finals on Thursday at 6:15pm at Welcome Stadium in Dayton.  Hardin Northern School is inviting the community to attend a celebratory send off for Riley at Hardin Northern School tomorrow, May 30th at 11 am.

Traffic Fatalities Decrease Over Memorial Day Weekend

COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reporting 14 crashes resulting in 17 deaths on Ohio’s roadways during the 2024 Memorial Day weekend, according to provisional statistics. This is a decrease from last year, when 26 individuals were killed. The four-day reporting period began Friday, May 24 and ran through Monday, May 27. During the reporting period, state troopers made 19,104 traffic enforcement contacts, including 361 impaired driving arrests, 61 drug arrests, 2,662 safety belt citations and 1,090 distracted driving […]
