Minor Crash Occurred Monday in Kenton

Two vehicles were damaged in a crash that occurred Monday afternoon in Kenton.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, 34 year old Susan McGinnis was backing out of a driveway onto Robinson Avenue, and her car was struck by a westbound vehicle being operated by 46 year old Daniel Jaeger.   Light to moderate damage occurred to the vehicles.   McGinnis was cited for improper backing.

Scattered Outages Remain Following Sunday Wind Storm

Almost 38,000 AEP Ohio customers had their power restored Monday as crews were able to return to using bucket trucks once the subsided.   Of the 76,000 customers who were initially affected at the height of Sunday’s storm, about 20,000 customers currently are without power.   Almost 1,000 line, tree, contract and support personnel continue to tackle repairs to the 140 broken poles and spans of wire down across the AEP service territory.   As neighborhoods are restored, crews will […]

Marion Man Arrested Following Drug Investigation

A search warrant was executed in Marion on Monday, which resulted in the arrest of a Marion man.   According to a release, the Marion Metro Drug Enforcement Unit assisted the Marion Police Department and Marion County Sheriff's Office as the warrant was served at a residence in the 100 block of Sargent Street in Marion.   During a search, detectives located 60 grams of heroin, $600 in cash and a loaded handgun. St. Marys Man Accepts Plea Deal in Auglaize County Court

A first degree felony charge was dropped after a St. Marys man accepted a plea deal in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court Monday.   The Lima news reported that 24 year old Aaron Kanorr pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. In exchange for the guilty pleas, one count of rape was dismissed.   Kanoor was classified as a Tier II Sex Offender, and Judge Frederick Pepple ordered a pre-sentence investigation.   A jury trial […]

  The Marion Fire Department is asking for assistance in locating a suspect who is suspected of setting a fire in the city earlier this month at 680 Silver Street.   Witnesses describe the suspect as a white male, thin build, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall. Purse Stolen From Mt. Victory Woman

A Mt. Victory woman reported that her purse was stolen while she was in Kenton Sunday evening.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, the woman told officers that she was the Dollar Tree at the time of the theft.   Numerous personal items, including checks and multiple identification cards and documents were in the purse.   The incident is under investigation.
