Law Enforcement in Hancock County Holding Coffee with a Cop

The Findlay Police Department and Hancock County Sheriff's Office are hosting a Coffee with a Cop event tomorrow.   The event will be held from 9-11 Saturday morning at Coffee Amici located at 330 South Main Street in Findlay.   There is no agenda or speeches, but is billed as a chance to just ask questions, voice concerns and get to know law enforcement officers in Findlay and Hancock County.

USV Edges Kenton in Boys Basketball Action

Upper Scioto Valley defeated Kenton 51 to 47 in non-league boys basketball play Thursday at Kenton High School. The Rams conclude their regular season with at 17 and 5 mark. The Wildcats are now 13 and 8 and will host Bath this evening in Western Buckeye League play. WKTN will carry the game live, with the pregame show starting around 7:30 p.m.

Cross Feels Gov. DeWine’s Gas Tax Increase Proposal is Too High

Ada Pulls Away Late to Defeat Hardin Northern

A late surge was enough to push the Ada Bulldogs past Hardin Northern 60 to 48 in boys basketball play Thursday at Hardin Northern. The Bulldogs (5-16) led 50-47 midway through the fourth quarter but outscored the Polar Bears 10-1 down the stretch to notch the win. Phillip Coulson led the Bulldogs with 22 points and also grabbed five rebounds. Mechanicsburg Man Placed on Community Control on Drug Charge

A Mechanicsburg man was sentenced recently in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.   According to the document from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's Office, 24 year old Jerrod A. Thomas was placed on five years community control, with conditions on one count each of possession of drugs and possessing drug abuse instruments.   The case was heard by Judge Scott Barrett.

Suspect Facing Assault Charge Following Fight in Findlay

A fight in the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue in Findlay, during which a gun was fired, was reported to the Findlay Police Department late this past Wednesday night.   According to a release, officers arrived and located the victim of the assault and several witnesses.   As part of the investigation, search warrants were executed at a residence on Cedar Avenue and at the Super 8 motel on Broad Avenue.   At the motel, the alleged shooter was located […]

Driver Escapes Injury in Semi Rollover Crash

A Mississippi man was involved in a semi rollover crash Thursday in Wyandot County.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, a semi being operated west on U.S. 30 by 22 year old Jordon Brown ran off the left side of the road and overturned.   The semi came to rest after sliding on its driver's side back on the road.   Brown was not injured.   He was cited for failure to control.

Items Stolen from Vehicle Parked in Kenton

A vehicle parked in the 400 block of Gilmore Street in Kenton was ransacked and some items were stolen.   The incident was reported to Kenton police Thursday morning, and according to the report, prescription medication and a small amount of money were stolen.   The report did not indicate whether the car doors were locked or unlocked at the time.   The incident remains under investigation.

Allen County Deputy Charged with OVI

An Allen County Sheriff's deputy has been charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated.   Hometown Stations reported that the Ohio State Patrol stopped a car being driven by Evan Thomas this morning.   Thomas has been placed into a non-road position after being charged with the offense while driving his personal vehicle.   An administrative review will take place when his case is concluded in Lima Municipal Court.
