EPA Releases Data on 2018 Emissions

WASHINGTON (February 20, 2019) — Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released preliminary data on 2018 emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and carbon dioxide (CO2) from power plants in the lower 48 states. Pilkington Murder Trial Delayed

The capital murder trial for a Bellefontaine woman has been postponed after the judge in the case granted a defense request for more testing and evaluation.   The Bellefontaine Examiner reported that the trial of Brittany Pilkington was scheduled to start March 18, and Logan County Prosecutor Eric Stewart said his team was ready.   Judge Mark S. Kenton Couple Arrested in Logan County

Two people from Kenton were arrested following a traffic stop in Logan County on Tuesday.   The Bellefontaine Examiner reported that officers from the Bellefontaine Police Department stopped a minivan being driven by 44 year old Heather M. Carter. The driver told police there were firearms and ammunition in the vehicle, which was then searched.   Numerous handguns, a rifle and loaded magazines, as well as a duffle bag containing handguns were seized from the vehicle. Michigan Pair Arrested Following Traffic Stop in Wood County

COLUMBUS – Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers filed felony drug charges on February 20 against a Michigan man and woman after a traffic stop in Wood County. During the traffic stop, troopers seized more than 9 pounds of marijuana edibles, 26 mason jars of THC Kool-Aid, 92 THC vape cartridges, and 15 grams of hashish wax worth $27,500. Winter Weather Strikes Again

A round of winter weather caused problems on the roads overnight and this morning.   Several inches of snow fell around the region leading to a level one snow emergencies in Hardin, Hancock and Wyandot Counties. ODOT Cuts Council on Aging Funding

ODOT is cutting the budget for operating expenses and transportation for the Hardin County Council on Aging.   Executive Director Bette Bibler, told the Hardin County Commissioners at a recent meeting that she was notified in January that ODOT was cutting her operating expenses by 60% and the transportation by 40%. A $160,000 loss. Two Teens Injured in Wyandot County Crash

Two people were injured in a one vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday morning in Wyandot County.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, 18 year old Katelyn Coppler, of Upper Sandusky, lost control of her car while driving west on Township Highway 44.   The vehicle went off the right side of the road where it struck a power pole and came to rest in a field.   Heavy damage occurred to the vehicle.   Coppler […]

Man Arrested Following Domestic Disturbance Investigation

A 22 year old Kenton man was arrested after Kenton police were called to a domestic disturbance on Tuesday.   According to the report, officers were dispatched to an apartment at 655 East Street to investigate the incident.   A door was kicked in, and a woman at the residence suffered apartment minor injuries as a result of the incident.   Vinson Hastings was arrested and charged with domestic violence.
